The Divisive Process Is the Self

Q: Can one understand the activities and complexity of one's own brain?

What is thought? What is thinking? Can one observe the very complex structure and nature of the brain in oneself rather than seek it externally? Is it necessary to have a theory or a model to see what is actually going on?

Can we study the brain as a whole without dissecting it? Is it possible for thought to understand the brain?

Does watching to learn something new imply that to observe there must be no conditioning?

Thought is emerging, growing, coming and going. From where? Can one observe the cause without the observer? And then what is action? An insight implies instant perception. Can one move that way all through life?

The Self Is Deceptive

Q: What do we mean by knowledge?

Knowledge is stored in the brain. Knowledge is accumulated. What is the relationship of that knowledge to action? Is action born of knowledge?

When action is based on the past or on the future that action must invariably be limited. Born of limitation, it must inevitably cause conflict. Can we have an action, that is not born out of limitation that is not consciously or unconsciously connected with knowledge? There is no answer to this question from the scientific point of view.

Can the self end? What is intelligence? Is it born out of thought? Is there an intelligence which is not limited?

Can the brain stop chattering?

Can the Rhythm of Thought Stop?

Q: Is there any kind of intelligence that is not bound to time?

Is there an intelligence which is not the product of thought? How does one come upon this intelligence?

Can the movement of thought which goes on from the beginning of life until we die come to an end?

For thousands of years people have asked if thought however much space it may have can be silent. For the brain to have space mustn't there be no self?
